Hi, I am the owner of Cultured Group and Salty Spaces. Cultured Group specialises in helping business owners manage and grow their businesses through VCFO, bookkeeping, education and training across their business finances, with exciting plans for growth. Salty spaces is a coworking space at The Wharf Mooloolaba.

I was lucky enough to grow up on the coast, and then after getting married and finishing an accounting/finance degree in Brisbane I moved overseas and ran multiple businesses and had shareholdings in different ventures. Until coming back to the coast at the end of 2020 when I started Cultured Group and welcomed my daughter into the world.

I believe being an ambassador aligns well with my values of being able to help, support and provide value to other professionals, companies, charities and the local community in which myself and my business calls home. I also love meeting new people so feel free to reach out whether that be at an event or not!

I joined the team to give back to the community that’s helped to shape my professional footprint and to support other young professionals as they grow right here on the coast. There’s no better place, or better crew to do it with.

I grew up on the Sunshine Coast and attended university here, so I’ve always felt a strong connection to the local community. Being part of the Sunshine Coast Young Chamber of Commerce is an opportunity to support young professionals and business owners, helping to create a thriving and connected network.

As a mum, I want see the Sunshine Coast grow and evolve, not just for today’s business owners but for the next generation – so that my son and others won’t have to move away for career opportunities if they don’t want to.

In my professional life, I am an independent marketing consultant and partner, helping organsations create clarity in their marketing efforts. I also co-run Ives Tiling, a high-end residential tiling business specialising in premium renovations and boutique builds.

As Head of Marketing for SCYCC, my focus is on strengthening the Chamber’s brand, increasing engagement and ensuring that members and sponsors see real value in being part of this community. I’m excited to contribute to the growth of young professionals and businesses on the Coast and to connect with like-minded people along the way.

When the opportunity came to become an ambassador for the Young Chamber, it was something I said yes to straight away and I’m really excited to become even more involved in the growing network of young professionals here on the Sunshine Coast.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy training jiu jitsu and trying to find the best breakfast spots the Coast has to offer. If I haven’t had the chance to meet you yet, please make sure to say hi at the next Young Chamber event!

Brendan Catorall

Brendan Catorall

Hi, I’m Brendan and I run Apollo Digital, a digital marketing agency designed to help small to medium service-based businesses thrive through paid advertising and website development.

Through my years in agency roles, I saw where large agencies were missing the mark, which inspired me to start my own business to provide high-quality, tailored services that truly support small businesses in their growth.

I’m excited to join the SCYCC team and bring my passion for business growth and marketing to support the Chamber and it’s members. Growing up on the Sunshine Coast, it’s great to have the opportunity to give back to the community and play a role in fostering it’s growth and success.

I make businesses sound brilliant for a living. I’m a communications strategist, copywriter and founder of STORY.

After nearly a decade helping multimillion-dollar businesses, scrappy startups and even a few scandal-prone sports stars tell better stories through PR, content and their websites, I traded the city life for sunshine and waves. The entrepreneurial vibe here beats London’s rain-soaked hustle any day!

I found SCYCC while hunting for the Coast’s most interesting humans, and I’m stoked to be involved at such an exciting time for the region. When I’m off-duty, you can usually find me chasing waves (and a park) or teaching yoga.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to have had a number of exceptional mentors who shared their profound experiences and lessons learnt with me. These lessons have carried into how I conduct myself as a leader within my own team to this day.

For me, becoming an ambassador means I’m able to open the door for other young professionals who perhaps haven’t had the opportunity to lean on or learn from a mentor. I attribute much of my success to my ability to network, and so encourage others to prioritise connection and personal lives. I’m always eager to help and provide guidance to others, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if inclined whether for business or personal development.
